Paper/paper coating :-

paper
Talc as a filler is preferred in paper making because it is white, soft, non abrasive and free from grit thus minimizing machine wear. Low level of soluble impurities leads to low loss of soluble matter as waste and avoid foaming during process. Controlled particle size distribution of our talc products improve pulp retention behavior of paper, in paper-making, with better yield

Our talc products contain less grit and are purer as compared to other talc. Our talc products of platy particle shape perform better over others as paper with our Talc can be formed into smooth sheets by calendaring for aesthetic and good printing requirements. They also provide improved ink receptivity of Writing and Printing Paper.

Paper coating
MICRON-S Revolutionary talc
, MICRON-S, for Paper Coating applications. It exhibits distinct advantages over other competing products due to the following properties which it possesses :

  • Inherent purity, balanced particle size distribution
  • Platy particle shape
  • Better scattering co-efficient & Gloss & Opacity
  • Better Calendaring & Strength
  • Better Printability
  • Reduced Consumption of TiO2

Better Shelf-life

Rubber
Talc acts as a lubricant, non-sticking and mould releasing agent during manufacturing. It is used even at an elevated temperature in rubber manufacturing. Talc being hydrophobic in nature reinforces the cured rubber and imparts good insulation properties in specialised applications

Our talc products are free from grittiness and biminerals thereby avoiding reduction of tensile strength and premature cracking. Talc, which is chemically pure, with extremely low level of iron, manganese and copper; enhances durability of rubber compounds. Platy particle shape of our talc enhances reinforcing behaviour with rubber to impart better functional properties like tensile strength, elasticity, heat deflection temperature, dimensional stability etc.

Plastic
Talc is extensively used and reinforced with different type of Plastics to improve chemical and heat resistance, flame retardance, dimensional stability, stiffness, tensile strength, creep resistance, electrical spalling resistance and heat deflection temperature

Platy particle shape of our talc enhances reinforcing behaviour due to two-side orientation and causes less stress concentration, which improves flow-ability. The ultra fine MICRON-S series talc products perform excellently in plastics namely PP, HDPE, NYLON, EXPS, PE and PU etc.

Below mentioned are some salient features of talc Micron-S :
  • Platy particle shape
  • High chemical purity
  • Low level of iron content
  • Controlled particle size distribution
  • Extra whiteness with excellent colour coordinate values
  • High aspect ratio
  • High surface area
  • High hydrophobicity and oleoresinous behaviour

These properties help our talc in providing excellent reinforcement with plastics resulting in their improved properties required in vital applications viz. Automotive, Home appliances, Packaging, Furniture, Engineering plastics etc. Talc (free from Biminerals) helps in minimizing the wear and tear of costly plastic processing machines.

It provides better long-term thermal stability and light stability.

Our talc grades conform European and Japanese standards and can be used in applications where food comes in contact with plastics. Surface modified talc products have also been developed for improved reinforcement, flowability and processibility to get better properties of talc filled plastics.

Pharmaceutical
Since Pharmaceuticals are consumed by human beings, hence, in their manufacturing, talc compounded into products acceptable by the human body are required. Thus, shivam Talc, of high chemical purity (free from harmful Asbestos and Biminerals) is preferred for them.

Talc ore is ground to a semi fine powder to produce and maintain the right size and shape spectrum and controlled particle size distribution.

Our talc products have high chemical purity and platy particle shape thereby providing the desired features to the pharmaceutical products in which they are added

Cosmetics
In Cosmetics, talc is compounded into products which are not absorbed by the human body. Thus, talc of high chemical purity, more than 99%, (free from Asbestos and Biminerals) is preferred

Talc ore is ground to a semi fine powder to produce and maintain the right size and shape spectrum and controlled particle size distribution thus avoiding the clogging of skin pores and thereby maintaining normal body functions of perspiration etc.

Talc products Besta and Finex, maintain lubricity to skin over a longer period because of their high purity and platy particle shape. Talc also imparts softness and high perfume retention.

Paints
Talc acts as an important extender pigment in paints. Good spreading properties help in the use of talc filled paints as primer, emulsion and exterior under coats. Talc produces a moisture resistant finish when emulsion paints are applied. Talc also improves rheological behaviour of paint.

Talc products, i.e., Micron-S, Sunlit reduce sagging, settling and cracking of paint because of controlled particle size distribution and good suspension properties. Our talc acts as a good flattening agent, allowing the paint to level out after application and to produce an even film. It helps in improving the gloss and surface finish and keeping the paint in suspension form for long.

Ceramics
conductivity which make it useful for ceramic and refractory applications. Talc acts as a flux by lowering the firing temperature and quickening the firing time. Talc possesses chemical inertness, high dielectric strength, high thermal conductivity and low electric.

Talc increases thermal shock resistance, electrical resistance and thermal expansion at elevated temperatures, thereby preventing glaze cracking.

Our talc products, Supra & Ceram-II possess high temperature resistivity and low level of impurities, thus, making it favourable in the manufacturing of ceramic bodies, tiles and insulators. It also possesses low thermal expansion and dimensional stability along with low dielectric loss. These properties make it very useful for electrical porcelain, stoneware application. Due to high chemical purity with high whiteness, some of premium grades are preferred in Ceramic glaze application. Their low iron content makes it preferable for electro ceramic application.

Toilet soap & washing cakes
In India, talc is used as an important ingredient in Toilet Soap, Washing Cake and Detergent applications. Talc mainly acts as active binder/ surfactant that holds together other ingredients and imparts softness & gloss in addition to perfume retention.

Our talc products are preferred in soaps and washing cake application because of high chemical purity, controlled particle size distribution, high surface area with good oleo resinous properties. Low level of iron content in talc helps to overcome discoloration problem. Talc imparts better surface finish and thereby acts as a surfactant and binder for all other ingredients.
